We will be vaccinating students, staff, and FHSD community members on a first come, first served basis according to the following priority groups established by the Center for Disease Control:
- Pregnant women
- Care givers with children under the age of 6 months (and others in close contact)
- Health care workers
- Children 6 months - 24 years old
- Adults ages 25 - 63 with underlying health conditions.
Additionally, you must be healthy to receive a vaccination. If you are ill you will be advised to wait until you recover before getting the vaccine.
We currently have the following types of vaccine:
· Preservative free injections for pregnant women
· Preservative free injections for babies 6 months – 2 years old
· H1N1 injections for children 2 – 24 years old who cannot have the nasal spray vaccine and adults 24 – 63 years old with underlying health conditions
· H1N1 Nasal Spray
On the District’s website you can download the immunization consent form and vaccination information sheets from the Centers for Disease Control for the H1N1 Flu Shot and the H1N1 Nasal Spray. The vaccination information sheets address the benefits and risks of vaccination, including different indications for live versus inactivated vaccines. Please be sure to thoroughly review both vaccine information sheets so you are aware of the two types of vaccines available (shot and nasal spray) and the possible restrictions for each type.
To help reduce wait time and make the registration process as smooth as possible, please come to the clinic with your consent form completed. A consent form will be needed for each person being vaccinated.
We have over 1,000 doses of the vaccine available and therefore we will not be handing out line tickets for this clinic. We will vaccinate as many people as we can during the established clinic time. We will schedule another clinic, date yet to be determined, should we have any vaccine remaining after Tuesday’s clinic.
Please check the FHSD website, www.fhsdschools.org, for H1N1 and flu clinic updates. If you have any questions, please email them to communications@fhsdschools.org.
