21st Century Classroom

If we are to transform lives, we must transform classrooms.

The 21st century teacher functions as facilitator, coach and resource; the student functions as team member, researcher and creative problem solver; and the classroom may extend, virtually and actually, beyond its walls. Wherever possible, activities and processes are carried out in an environment that develops and recognizes students’ interests and abilities, and that relate them directly to real-world practices. When students are encouraged to research and work on a topic they care about, the results can be exciting and empowering.

In addition to mastering the critical content knowledge through a guaranteed and viable curriculum, students master critical life skills in a 21st Century Classroom:

  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
  • Collaboration and Leadership
  • Agility and Adaptability
  • Initiative and Entrepreneurialism
  • Effective Oral and Written Communication
  • Accessing and Analyzing Information
  • Curiosity and Imagination
