During the two weeks teachers taught lessons for each grade level highlighting five main impairment areas which included hearing, social emotional, physical/mobility, vision and learning disabilities.

 | “A Day Made Better” with a Surprise for Two FHSD Teachers Posted on 10/07/2011 On Tuesday, October 4, Debbie DiCarlo, a third grade teacher at Henderson Elementary, and Suzan Wilson, a communication arts teacher at Saeger Middle School, were surprised by Adopt-A-Classroom and OfficeMax with a package of $1,000 worth of classroom resources and supplies on behalf of the nationwide event titled “A Day Made Better.” Ms. DiCarlo and Ms. Wilson were surprised by a team of OfficeMax representatives and their principals, who delivered the supplies to their classrooms.

 | Saeger Middle School Teacher Named as Top Ten Finalist in St. Louis Essay Contest Posted on 10/07/2011 Matthew Van Horn, SEGA teacher at Saeger Middle School, was recently announced as a top ten finalist in the Fabulous Fox Theater of St. Louis essay contest in conjunction with The Addams Family Broadway Musical. As a finalist, Mr. Van Horn was invited to attend the opening night of the musical at the Fox Theater in St. Louis on Wednesday, September 28. The producers of the musical comedy, “THE ADDAMS FAMILY” have created the program “No Snap Judgments”, whose ultimate goal is to promote social awareness in our communities, our schools, and in our workplaces.
