Castlio Students Create Puzzles for Troops
Posted on 12/09/2011

Castlio's Read, Write and Run students created puzzles for the troops on November 8 in honor of Veteran's Day.
The puzzles had special messages for troops who are currently servicing overseas. On November 17 students made stockings for the soldiers, which were decorated and filled with delicious treats.
Both meeting times and activities were part of the students’ marathon of good deeds. Students finished each meeting by running around the school, logging in 1 - 2 miles per student.
Also, Castlio collected $1,376.38 in a school-wide “Turkey Teacher Drive” for a week in November. All proceeds from the drive were donated to the Toys for Tots Program in memory of former Castlio and Francis Howell Central High School alumnus, Marine Lance Corporal Phillip Vinnedge.
The mission of Castlio's Read, Write and Run program is to promote physical fitness, awareness of community involvement, and reading for the Castlio Elementary students.
