FHSD High School Publication Students Win Awards

Several Francis Howell School District (FHSD) publications programs and students from Francis Howell High School (FHHS), Francis Howell North (FHN) High School and Francis Howell Central (FHC) High School received awards at the annual Missouri Interscholastic Press Association Journalism Day April 4.

Amber Roth won two Superior awards and an Excellent award for work going into this year’s yearbook.

Courtney Riportella won an Excellent Award for work going into this year’s yearbook

Blake Beck won a Show-Me Award for a profile in the Central Focus on Chase Rey

Maddie Wilson won a Superior for a graphic in the Central Focus and a Superior for a page design in the Central Focus

Alli Keisker, Ellen Hinze, Kelci Davis and Maddie Wilson earned a Show-Me award for a center spread page design in the Central Focus.

Alli Kesiker won 2nd place in the on-site write-off competition in the Newswriting category.

FHC Publications Adviser, Matt Schott was awarded the Knight Award by MIPA for his work in helping fight for and advance scholastic press rights in Missouri. This is a prestigious award MIPA gives out only when the feel someone in the state has done work to help advance this cause. The last time it was given out was 2008.
