On May 4 the Student Council at Bryan Middle School hosted its annual dodge ball tournament, which helped raised $1,200 for school improvements.

A total of 28 teams registered to participate in the tournament. Teachers and students formed teams and played against one another in a total of 31 games; each team was guaranteed to play at least twice before becoming eliminated. Each grade level had the opportunity to play a team of teachers. Students who did not play had the option to watch the dodge ball competition.

The winners were based on grade level. The winning teams were The Flying Squirrels, sixth grade; Pink Swag, seventh grade; and Team Swag, eighth grade.

The Bryan Middle School Student Council has hosted the dodge ball tournament for the last five years and has plans to host another tournament next year. The funds raised are typically donated or used for school projects. In the past, the student council has used the money raised to purchase a school mascot costume, defibrillators for the school, as well as donated to various charities.
