Immunizations

While checking off your back-to-school shopping list, it’s also important to make certain your children are up-to-date on the immunizations required for school attendance. To help parents meet these requirements, the St. Charles County Division of Public Health’s Immunization Clinic will offer “Walk-In Days” for students in various county public school districts.

The clinics will be held at the health department facility at facility at 1650 Boone's Lick Road in St. Charles. Hours are 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The clinic dates are:

  • Francis Howell School District – Tuesday, July 17, 2012
  • Fort Zumwalt School District –  Friday, July 20, 2012
  • Wentzville School District –  Tuesday, July 24, 2012
  • Orchard Farm School District and St. Charles School District – Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Students must be accompanied by parent or guardian (with proof of guardianship), have a current immunization record, and must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Have No health insurance
  • Are covered by Medicaid
  • Are Native American or Alaskan Native
  • Have health insurance, but it does not cover immunizations

Only immunizations that are required for school attendance will be administered during the walk-in clinics. Information will be available on other vaccines the student may be age-eligible for, but those will require a regularly scheduled appointment. Any student presenting who has health insurance that covers immunizations will be redirected to their provider.
