According to recent data, there are only about a thousand students in the United States every year who achieve perfection when taking the ACT test. The Holidays are here, and it’s the time of year to be thankful. The students at Francis Howell Union (FHU) are dedicating their time to giving back, in addition to giving thanks. Together with the organization “Kids Against Hunger,” FHU students participated in a food packing event on Tuesday, Nov. 22. After only two hours, the students had put together 10,800 food packages, which is enough to feed 30 people every day for one year, according to FHU business teacher John Omoresemi.  READ MORE...

Candidate filing for the April 5, 2016, election to the Francis Howell School District Board of Education opens at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, Dec.13, 2016, and continues until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017. It’s that time of year to be thankful, but it’s also that time of year for something else – toy shopping. But not everyone has the resources to get their child the latest and greatest toys on the market. The United States Marine Corps began the Toys for Tots program in 1995 to foster a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters. This message will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens; and assist them in becoming citizens like U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Phillip Vinnedge.  READ MORE...
