The Francis Howell Central (FHC) High School football team along with head coach, Todd Berck, spent three days assisting local neighborhoods with tornado clean-up after an EF-3 tornado ripped through the St. Louis and St. Charles counties on Friday, May 31, 2013.

Francis Howell School District Board of Education member, Amy McEvoy, recently received an Advanced Certification Award from Missouri School Board’s Association (MSBA). Amy received this award Friday, June 7, at the 2013 MSBA Leadership for Continuous Improvement Summit, which provides an opportunity to celebrate continuous improvement and excellent leadership. The summit also provides a chance to learn from other Missouri public schools and how they are involved in continuous improvement.

Francis Howell North (FHN) High School soccer coach, Dan Hogan, will be inducted to the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA). After coaching girls soccer for 20 years with a record of 350 wins, Hogan will be inducted into MSHSSCA at the 2013 Girls Banquet that will be held on Saturday June 15, 2013.

Seven student athletes from Francis Howell Central (FHC) High School have been recognized as the spring 2012-2013 recipients of the FHC Ultimate Spartan Award.

Francis Howell Central (FHC) High School spring athletic programs and activity teams/groups recently received the Scholastic Achievement Awards from the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSSA).

On Thursday, May 23, Independence Elementary officially received their National School of Character (NSOC) banner from the National School of Character Council. The entire school had the opportunity to view the banner during a school assembly. Independence received NSOC recognition in May 2013, for their commitment to character education and for fostering a positive environment for social and academic learning.

Filled with excitement and anticipation, the entire Warren Elementary student body and staff gathered for a school-wide assembly to hear exciting news on Friday, May 17, 2013. Mary Corbitt, kindergarten teacher, was announced as the recipient of the 2013 Excellence In Education Teacher of the Year Award given by Mid Rivers Newsmagazine. Corbitt was selected from a pool of 1,000 applicants.

The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) Board of Education has announced Dr. Anthony Haan as the new principal for the FHSD Heritage Landing Alternative Program for the 2013-14 school year. Haan replaces current Heritage Landing principal, Jennifer Bracken. Haan will begin his new role July 1.
