In the past, school staff would stuff kids’ backpacks with flyers to take home to mom and dad. Whether or not those flyers actually made it out of the kid’s backpack and into the parent or guardian’s hand was a mystery. What resulted was a lot of wasted paper, and heavier backpacks. The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) will be moving toward a better solution for flyer distribution on July 1, 2015, by implementing an electronic flyer delivery service called Peachjar.
As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, and maintain fiscal responsibility, we have transitioned from paper to electronic flyer delivery. For parents and guardians, this system will be much more convenient – they will no longer have to search for the various enriching school activities, events, and programs. Flyers will be placed directly on school website (by clicking the Peachjar logo), or be sent directly to emails.
This system will save literally tons of paper and the expensive costs of copying flyers (both for schools and flyer distributers). And our kids’ backpacks might just be a little lighter!
To request flyer approval, follow the steps below. Once approved, your flyer will be emailed to all parents and posted online. Paper flyers from outside organizations will no longer be distributed. Before you move on, please read our flyer distribution guidelines. Then follow the directions below.
- Visit www.peachjar.com
- Register as an Enrichment / Community Organization (under account type)
- Upload your flyer for approval
Your flyer will be automatically submitted to the District office. District staff will review the material and approve or deny based on the standards below. (Peachjar charges a fee to community organizations that are not school or District-sponsored activities for this service – which is typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers to each school.)
