Dr. Griggs began his career with the Francis Howell School District in 1986 as a business education teacher and track coach at Francis Howell North High School.

Dr. Griggs has also served the District in the following capacities: business education teacher at Francis Howell High School, Assistant Principal at Barnwell Middle School, Assistant Principal/Activities Director at Francis Howell Central High School, Associate Principal at Francis Howell Central High School, Principal of Francis Howell High School, and Principal of Francis Howell Central High School. In 2006, Dr. Griggs was chosen as the Director of Student Services and Operations and served as the Interim Chief Human Resources for the 2007-2008 school year.

Dr. Griggs has accumulated several honors over his teaching career. He received the Lighthouse Consulting Specialist in Education Administration Award from Lindenwood University, and has been nominated to the Howell of Fame for educational excellence in the Francis Howell School District. He has also had his work featured in the book Educational Research in an Age of Accountability. He was a School Library Journal Administrator of the year finalist and was an Honoree at the School Library Journal’s Leadership Summit in New York City.

Dr. Griggs is a degreed accountant, and is also an author. His book Assessing and Training Secondary School Administrators was published by Corwin Press in 2000.

Dr. Griggs earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from St. Louis University, his Master of Education in Secondary School Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and his Doctor of Education from Lindenwood University.
