FHSD to Partner with Mercy Kids to Offer Community Ed Classes

The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) is partnering with Mercy Kids to offer  community education classes, Sitter Skills and Home Alone. The classes will be taught by community health educators from Mercy Kids.

Sitter Skills will be held on Tuesday, June 6, from 6:00 - 8:30 PM in the library of Francis Howell Middle School. The class is for children ages 11 to 13 years old to learn about infant care, child development, interactive play, safety, handling emergency situations, and marketing babysitting services.

The Home Alone class will be held on Wednesday, June 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in Barnwell Middle School’s library and June 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in Saeger Middle School's library. The class is designed for children 9 to 11 years old to learn about self-care. Topics include personal safety and protection, basic first-aid, and emergency preparedness. The fee for the class is $25.

The purpose of the FHSD Community Education Program is to enrich the lives of FHSD citizens by providing quality, affordable educational 
opportunities and activities for the adults in our community. The Community Education Program is paid for by participant registration fees.
