The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) has awarded the Francis Howell School District the Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation for the 2016–2017 budget year. This is the eleventh consecutive year that the District has been recognized with the MBA.

“I am proud to be associated with such an outstanding school district,” said Chief Operating Officer Kevin Supple. “This award is a positive reflection of the commitment by the entire finance department team to continuing to manage the District’s finances and other resources in the most effective and efficient manner.”

The MBA promotes and recognizes excellence in school budget presentation and enhances school business officials' skills in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget. After a rigorous review by professional auditors, the award is conferred only on school districts that have met or exceeded the program’s stringent criteria.

The MBA program is sponsored by Voya Financial, a provider of retirement plans for the academic community. “Voya has a long history of supporting the school business profession, and we are honored to recognize this year’s Meritorious Budget Award winners,” said Heather Lavallee, president of Tax-Exempt Markets for Voya Financial.

ASBO International, founded in 1910, is a professional organization of 5,000 members that provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of education resources.
