Francis Howell High School DECA
Fundraises for Fellow Student
During
the months of October and November Francis Howell High School DECA organized
a school and community wide effort called Carving out Cystic Fibrosis. It
was a school fundraiser to help raise money for Francis Howell student
Dalton Prager who had been diagnosed at birth with Cystic Fibrosis. In just
under two months the Francis Howell DECA chapter (organized and led by
District 6 Vice President Jordan Stevener, FHHS officer Ryan O’Connell and
DECA member Alicia Dickherber) raised $3,832 by selling paper pumpkin
pledges for $1.00 (which were displayed in the upper C lobby of FHHS),
donations, t-shirts, and creating a costume bowl in which all proceeds went
directly to the fundraiser. The money was given directly to the Dalton
Prager Trust Fund instead of a national foundation due to Dalton’s high
insurance and medical bills.
