Strategic Planning Process
The Strategic Planning Steering Committee provides for the overall
direction, coordination, and integration of the long range planning process
for the Francis Howell School District. The planning process is effected
primarily by five standing Strategic Planning committees: Instruction,
Facilities, Finance, Communication and Technology. The Steering Committee, and the standing
committees are advisory in nature and are joint ventures of the Francis
Howell School District community, parents, teachers, and administration. The
Steering Committee includes the chairpersons of the standing committees,
community members from the district's geographic regions, teachers, the
superintendent of schools, and administrators. The committee also invites
the participation of Board of Education members to serve in an ex officio
capacity. The committee process insures that the community at large is
involved in the assessment of district needs and knowledgeable of the
resulting recommendations. The Steering Committee maintains liaison with the
Board of Education and provides a channel for effective communication to and
from the Strategic Planning committees. The committee achieves consensus
among its members regarding all recommendations to the Board of Education.
The Steering Committee takes an active, leading role in seeking and
promoting broad public support for the educational, facilities, and
financial plans. |
