Firecrackers Program
Program Description

The Spectra facilitator in each building will meet with the kindergarten teachers at the beginning of the school year to explain the Firecrackers Program. During the first quarter the Spectra facilitator will work with the kindergarten teacher to identify behaviors and characteristics of high ability students. At the end of the first quarter each kindergarten teacher may submit student referrals for the program.

During 2 or 3 quarters during the year the Spectra facilitator will meet with a new group of kindergarten students. These groups will consist of approximately 7 – 12 students. The groups will meet once a week for 30 – 45 minutes for an entire quarter. Each session will focus on developing both nonverbal and verbal reasoning skills and creative thinking.
