Use of Results

Individual results from MAP assessments will be sent home to parents of elementary and secondary students with a letter of explanation. MAP reports will be included in student permanent record files. Individual and group results as well as results disaggregated by race/ethnicity, gender, LEP, migrant, or identified disability from MAP will be shared with appropriate staff in order to facilitate instruction designed to promote individual growth and group and sub-group achievement and to modify curriculum. Group and disaggregated data from the MAP assessments will be provided to the Board of Education on an annual basis, results will be provided to the public in the annual district report card and website.

Results of fitness assessments will be disseminated to students in physical education classes. Group results will be reported to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education by the Directors of Elementary and Secondary Curriculum and Instruction.

Results of the Signatures Placement Test will be disseminated to students in the classroom and reported to parents on the final report card of the year as a determining factor for reading placement in the next school year. The teacher will report results to the STAT team in the event a referral is made for possible tutoring or other academic intervention.
The reading specialist will report results of the Gates-MacGinitie to parents and the classroom teacher following administration. Reading assessment will be used to facilitate the identification of students for enrollment in intervention programs (such as the reading tutoring program, summer school, accelerated reading), as well as to facilitate decisions regarding promotion/retention.

Results will be used to monitor individual student’s progress in writing from the beginning of an academic year to the end of that year. A portfolio will be maintained and moved with the student from year to year to allow teachers to better assess student progress on a longitudinal basis. Students’ writing portfolios will be shared with parents twice annually during parent conferences and will be available for parent inspection upon request at any time.

The district math benchmark assessment will be administered at the end of each year in grades K-5 to determine individual student achievement of mathematics objectives. Results will be disseminated to students in their classrooms and reported to parents at the time of the final report card for the year.

Results of the level 1 assessment will be disseminated to students in their foreign language classes and reported to parents. Results will be used to determine eligibility for placement in the level 2 foreign language class.
