Board of Education
The Francis Howell School District Board of Education is composed of seven duly-elected residents who represent the District's citizens in developing policies and procedures for the operation of the school district, as well as managing its tax dollars. School board members must be a resident of the school district and have resided within the state for one year at the time of election or appointment and be at least 24 years of age. The term of a member is three years. The Board has full legislative authority and control of the District as provided for in state law.
The Francis Howell Board of Education usually meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the FHSD Administration Building, located at 801 Corporate Centre Drive, O’Fallon, MO 63368. Exterior doors open at 5:45 p.m. on meeting days. View the Board meeting schedule.
Board meetings are livestreamed via the District's YouTube channel. Agendas are available prior to Board meetings through BoardDocs. The agenda for the upcoming meeting is typically accessible on Monday before the regularly scheduled Thursday meeting.

- Individual student issues should be addressed with the child’s teacher or school principal as appropriate.
- Individual staff concerns should be addressed with the school principal or supervisor first, or with Human Resources if the concern is not being satisfactorily addressed

Strategic Committees
The FHSD Board of Education uses committees of stakeholders to support the mission and vision of the District. The District recognizes four (4) types of committees: Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Task Force.
As established in Board Policy 0360 and Board Regulation 0360, Tier 1 Committees are typically appointed by or at the direction of the Board to assist the Board in carrying out specific responsibilities. These committees report to the Board at least annually, and must comply with the same notice and open meeting provisions applicable to Board of Education meetings.
