The Francis Howell School District will join schools nationwide to celebrate school counselors during National School Counseling Week, Feb. 5-9, 2018. The week highlights the unique contribution to the academic success and personal well-being of our students that district counselors make each and every day.

“Our counselors have a tremendous impact on our students,” said Dr. Mary Hendricks-Harris, FHSD Superintendent. ”Francis Howell appreciates all the contributions this talented group makes to the academic, personal, social
well-being and career development of our students. They are a vital part of our educational process.”

FHSD’s school counselors play an important role in helping students examine their strengths, talents, interests, and abilities. They are integral in helping students achieve school success, plan for post-secondary education, and decide on a fulfilling career. They also help students discover new possibilities and encourage students to focus on building positive social relationships, enhancing their total educational experience. Our school counselors develop professional partnerships and relationships with teachers, staff, and students to provide an educational environment conducive to learning.

Please take a moment during National Counseling Week to express your thanks to our school counselors for their commitment and continued support for FHSD students, schools, teachers, and families.
