Community Ed

The Francis Howell School District Community Education Program is designed with the purpose of enriching the lives of FHSD residents by providing quality, affordable educational opportunities and activities for the adults in our community. Participants must be 14 years or older to participate in Community Education classes.

The Community Education Program is paid for by participant registration fees.

5 Money Questions for Women
DATE: Dec. 11, 2019
TIME: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
LOCATION: FHSD Administration Building Board Room, 4545 Central School Road
COST: $5.00 per participant

The Francis Howell School District Community Education Program presents, in conjunction with Edward Jones, presents 5 Money Questions for Women. This educational program will discuss a process women can use to identify financial goals and set a strategy. It will also discusses the Rule of 72, systematic investing, employer-sponsored retirement plans, and IRAs as strategies for saving.


Foundations of Investing
DATE: February 12, 2020
TIME: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
LOCATION: FHSD Administration Building Board Room, 4545 Central School Road
COST: $5.00 per participant


The FHSD Community Education Program presents, in conjunction with Edward Jones, Foundations of Investment. This educational program is geared toward people who want an overview of investing, including key terms and investment types. Foundations of Investing covers the basic features of bonds, stocks and mutual funds, and the importance of asset allocation.



College Funding: Getting There from Here
DATE: Feb. 26, 2019
TIME: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
LOCATION: FHSD Administration Building Board Room, 4545 Central School Road
COST: $5.00 per participant


The FHSD Community Education Program presents, in conjunction with Edward Jones, College Funding: Getting There from Here. The presentation will cover questions to consider as you establish a college savings goal, savings strategies to help you reach your goal, and the features and benefits of college savings plans.


Retirement Planning
DATE: March 10, 2020
TIME: 6:30 - 8:00 PM
LOCATION: FHSD Administration Building Board Room, 4545 Central School Road
COST: $5.00 per participant

Achieving the dream of a secure, comfortable retirement is much easier when you manage your finances and plan well.  In this class, participants will learn:
• Essentials of financial retirement planning
• The purpose of your money (e.g. liquid dollars, income planning, savings/investment, legacy methods)
• How to prevent outliving your money
• How to protect your life savings from investment mistakes




Cancellation
To cancel a class registration, contact communications@fhsdschools.org. Refunds will only be granted if requested within 5 days from the date of the first class. All registration cancellations are subject to a $2.50 refund fee.
