Summer Camps

STEM Camp will provide student learning and enrichment through blending the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. A focus on creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills will provide students the opportunity to solve real world problems.

Elementary Robotics and Programming Camp will incorporate critical thinking and problem solving through the building, programming and engineering of robots. The program will also focus on team building skills through effective collaboration and communication skills.

Elementary Studio Art Camp will provide students hands-on experiences with art media that engages creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Students will create personally meaningful artworks exploring expressive big ideas.

Elementary Sports Camp will incorporate physical activity, cardiorespiratory fitness, teamwork and problem solving through a variety of sports and fitness activities.

Elementary Music Camp will incorporate musical activities including playing instruments, musical composition, and movement through various activities focused on collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving.

Elementary Strategy Game Camp will incorporate critical - thinking and problem solving through strategy games such as chess, spades, etc.

Elementary Culinary Camp will incorporate the life skill of cooking/food preparation and the science of food.

Middle School App Camp will consist of:

• Brainstorming a mobile application from idea to market
• Sketching out and storyboarding an application idea
• Introducing programming languages to students
• Working on developing applications with assistance and guidance
• Developing a marketing plan
• Making a presentation pitching the app on the last day of the program

Middle School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Program will consist of:

• A week-long program utilizing teachers blending the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
• Focus on creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication

Students will learn about modern life science research and experience the excitement of discovery. This camp will expose students to the various aspects of biomedical sciences, including fundamentals in molecular biology, genetics, forensics, immunology, and biochemistry. Through active learning and hands‐on investigations, students will learn how laboratory science can be translated into improved human health and will engage in investigative experiences that will allow them to apply their laboratory skills to real life problems.
