Being a school nurse is more than
just putting bandages on cuts and scrapes. Our nurses play a vital role in the well-being
of students, promoting healthy
lifestyles and disease prevention. To honor the contributions our school nurses
make every day, the Francis Howell School District (FHSD) celebrates National School Nurse Day on Wednesday, May 10,
2017.
We know that healthy
children learn better, and school nurses play a vital role in supporting our
students’ health. They juggle a complex array of medical and social issues,
seeing hundreds of students each year. They focus on prevention and well-being
for students and families through education regarding healthy lifestyle choices
and management of chronic diseases.
Please help us
celebrate National School Nurses Day by thanking your school nurses for all
they do to keep students healthy, in school, and ready to learn.
