Celebrate FHSD Teachers During Teacher Appreciation Week

Role model, mentor, coach, facilitator, friend—these are just a few of the descriptors of a great teacher.  FHSD celebrates our great teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 7-11, for the important role they play in making sure every FHSD student receives a quality education.

“I am inspired and encouraged daily by the work of our teachers,” said Superintendent Dr. Mary Hendricks-Harris. “FHSD educators do so much more than teach a curriculum; they care about our students, go above and beyond what could be expected, and are devoted to student learning.”

Every day, FHSD teachers touch the lives of thousands of children, and their work and impact extend far beyond the boundaries of the classroom. FHSD teachers do so much for students – they inspire, motivate, encourage, and ultimately help shape their future. They spend countless hours preparing lessons, evaluating progress, counseling and coaching students, and performing community service. Encouraging and advocating for high standards for students, FHSD teachers are also continuously enhancing their teaching practices and learning environments.

During Teacher Appreciation Week, FHSD encourages everyone to thank their current and past teachers as they will continue to influence and impact the lives of our children long after their school days. We proudly salute our teachers for their continued commitment and willingness to providing our students with the best education possible.
