The FHHS Boys’ Swim Team organized a drive to collect socks for those in need during their fall season. They collected approximately 750 pairs of socks. They donated the socks to FHSD Student Services Department to benefit those in need in the FHSD Community.
Socks were collected at all home meets.

“We understand that there are people in need and we just wanted to do something for them when the weather gets cold,” said FHHS junior Grant Reilmann. “We asked around and socks were something we thought we could help with.”

Boys Swim TeamThe FHHS Boys’ Swim team had a successful season, finishing with a winning record of 7-2 and a Gateway Athletic South Conference Championship title. They work hard in the classroom, as well as the pool having a cumulative GPA of 3.95.
The team had sixteen of nineteen boys awarded with the GAC All Academic Award. Kaleb Clark won the GAC Sportsmanship Award. FHHS Boys’ Swim qualified twelve swimmers for the State Championships and 5 advanced to the Finals. The Boys’ Swim team ended their season with a twentieth place State team finish.

“I am very proud of the team’s winning season. Knowing the hard work and sacrifices they made to get there,” said FHHS Boys Swim Coach Mandy Windham. “But I am more proud of who they are as people than just fast swimmers. Seeing them work as a team, set, and reach goals of individual growth and serving the community…that is what I am super proud about.”
