All FHSD schools are closed through April 24, to help slow the spread of COVID-19. This extended closure makes it hard when many households rely on school meals provided to feed their children throughout the day. That is why FHSD is working in collaboration with Sodexo and the community to ensure all families in need have food during this unprecedented time.

On Tuesdays (March 31, April 7, April 14, and April 21) during the closure, FHSD is providing meal packages to families in need with about five days worth of food. Volunteer teachers, bus drivers, and Sodexo employees will distribute meal packages at three locations: Hollenbeck Middle, Francis Howell North, and Francis Howell Central. Meal packages will be available for curbside pickup, at the school the family has designated, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

Families interested in receiving meal packages need to complete the online sign-up form. There is no qualifying criteria and all information is kept confidential. The sign-up form is only used to ensure an adequate number of packages can be prepared to serve all families that request it. To assist with this effort, the District is coordinating a food drive on April 3, from 10 AM until 2 PM. Donations can be dropped off at the FHSD Admin Building located at 4545 Central School Road in St. Charles. Items needed, listed in priority order are: boxed cereal, canned/cups of fruit, canned/cups of vegetables, chicken noodle soup, apple sauce, snack crackers, canned pasta, granola bars, fruit snacks, pop tarts, oatmeal, and easy mac/macaroni. Financial contributions to this effort can be made online in the FHSD Webstore.
