Chad Lange and Mary Lange Certifications

The learning never stops in FHSD, and that includes our Board of Education members. FHSD Board Director Mary Lange recently earned Advanced Board Certification and Vice President Chad Lange achieved Master Certification in the Missouri School Boards' Association (MSBA) certified board member program. The program established by MSBA recognizes school board members who choose to complete additional professional development beyond what is required by state law.

“A love of learning and dedication to the task of governing the District is what makes our Board of Education exceptional,” said
Superintendent Dr. Mary Hendricks-Harris. “By achieving additional certifications and furthering their professional development, Mr. Lange and Mrs. Lange have demonstrated their commitment to our students and effective leadership.”

School board members are required by Missouri state law to complete 16 hours of
Certified Board Member (CBM) Essential Training. To achieve Advanced Certification, board members must earn at least 12 additional training credits, read two books related to school board service, attend at least two MSBA regional or statewide events, and write an essay relating their study to their board service. To achieve Master Certification, board members must earn at least 24 additional training credits, read two books related to school board service, attend at least two MSBA regional or statewide events, and write a brief essay relating their study to their board service.

Both of Board members will be recognized during the MSBA Leadership Summit in June.
