Dr. Suzanne Leake has been named as the Principal at Francis Howell Central High School (FHC). Leake currently serves as FHC’s interim principal.

Leake previously served as the principal at Bryan Middle School. Prior to joining the Francis Howell School District, Suzanne served as the associate principal at Hazelwood West High School for seven years and served three years as an assistant principal.

Leake taught physical education and health for eight years in the Hazelwood and Ferguson-Florissant school districts before becoming an administrator. She started her educational career here in the District teaching at Hollenbeck Middle School 23 years ago.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to serve FHC students, staff and community in this role,” Leake said. “I have had a strong connection to Howell Central for many years, and I am thrilled to know I will continue to work alongside so many amazing educators, staff members, students and families.”

Leake said her goal is to work with all stakeholders to maximize the success at Central and emphasized her commitment to introducing rigorous and cutting-edge educational opportunities for students in all areas.

“I will ensure that our students are respected and respectful in their interactions with the community, and I will work tirelessly to make sure FHC continues to be a top-performing high school in the state of Missouri,” Leake said. “I am excited to work collaboratively with staff and parents to prioritize our work, celebrate the wins and focus on continuous improvement.  Thank you to all who have been supportive, given grace and provided some insight for me through these first several months. Once a Spartan, Always a Spartan!”

Leake earned a master’s degree in Education Administration at Lindenwood University. In 2012, she earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University and completed certification with the National Institute for School Leadership in 2014.
