Board Resolution on Racism

The Francis Howell Board of Education spoke out against racism and discrimination at its August 20 meeting, adopting a Resolution that formalizes the Board’s commitment to stand firmly against acts of individual and systemic racism. The Board announced their desire to create an equitable and anti-racist system that honors and elevates all, while specifically acknowledging the challenges faced by our Black students and families. The Resolution was read aloud at the meeting, signed by all Board members, and will hang proudly in the lobby of the Administration Building and in other buildings across the District. Furthermore, the Resolution will serve as a guiding document as the Board and District leaders continue the important and necessary work around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
