Family Learning Series

Family Learning SeriesThe Francis Howell Family Learning Series is designed to engage top experts, our parent community and school personnel in topics that will support our families and schools in preparing our students today, for a successful tomorrow. The Series provides a proactive approach in assisting our families with information that can help them support their children. The Family Learning Series is free to attend, but we ask that you RSVP so we can accommodate all attendees.

Have you ever wondered about your child's worries and anxieties?
After a two-year Covid-related hiatus, the FHSD Family Learning Series is coming back! The first event will be held Tuesday, December 6 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Westwood Trail Academy (810 Westwood Industrial Park Dr, Weldon Spring, MO 63304). Professional Therapist Amy Maus will talk about youth anxiety and strategies that parents and educators can use to help.

Attendees will learn answers to these questions and more:
  • What anxieties are normal childhood/youth issues, and when do they require professional help?
  • Why are so many young people showing signs of anxiety these days?
  • What can parents – and teachers – do to help a student who often seems worried, is shy, shows perfectionism, or has symptoms of panic?
